  1. I know. I am a cigarette smoker, sh-h-h-h. You know, no one smokes on planet earth anymore, but when it accumulates it

looks terrible. When my family sit on the porch in the evening we tend to toss butts in the yard. After about a week, you can see all of them. so we have to rake them out.

  2. It's because they take something like 12 years to break down I believe....plus people generally don't care to much for smoking at all these days so that is just another thing for them to complain about so if you smoke just find something else to do with them besides throwing them on the ground. I smoke but I don't like seeing butts all over either!

  3. The butts contain all sorts of things that shouldn't be introduced into any setting and are harmful. They create an ugly and dangerous mess- even if they are fully extinguished beforehand.

  4. Its littering the place. Then another thing, it could cause a HUGE fire. You just gotta think.

  5. Bacause its been shown that if a small child accidentaly swallows a ciggarette bud there are enough toxins to kill them. If not kill them they will become very ill.

  6. It's real annoying when people throw them lit out their car window and they sail in my window.  It's even more annoying with kids in the car.

  7. Its the filters on the cigarettes that cause most of the litter. These are recyclable but small and it takes a long time to collect enough to make a visit to weigh them at a re-cycling center worthwhile. I would like to have a law passed so that any kind of litter is the responsibility of the person who previously owned the item of useful goods from which it came. Then these goods would have less fancy packing and the amount of dressing-up that our consumer good gets would save on litter too.

  8. cigarette butts  are typically flying missiles out someones window and take 12-25 years to break down - the average is 12-15. They leach out harmful chemicals and are the most known source of ground liter.  Plus look at a street curb at an intersection and the huge piles and imagine if you would want your doorstep to look the same.

  9. But so many.

  10. I didn't watch the YouTube thing but I'd have to say it's because cigarette butts aren't biodegradable.  They just sit on the Earth and ruin it.  Use an ashtray. :)

  11. So are rat droppings.

Cigarette filters clog the intestines of fish, causing a miserable death.

  12. YouTube is banned here, but I know what you mean, I throw mine out the window all the time without thinking.....Fire and poisoning of animals is the real problem. Ever dropped a butt into the lake while fishing? Poor fishies...

  13. Before you even light up...the filter contains 26 known carcinogens. Add the nicotine and gun powder residue (why do you think they don't go out?) True Death.

  14. I never really paid any attention to the problem when I was a

smoker.....not until I gave up the nasty habit did I notice how ugly these little butts are lying all over the place.  I've also

come to realize how much better it would have been had

I not thrown my little butts out to where someone else had to

clean them up...as a TV commercial once said, "Smokers

are losers!".... should have gone on to say, "..litter bugs as

    well!"
