This drives me CRAZY. I mean, you named them for a reason right? I just have never gotten this. Why do so many people do it? Why didn;t you just name them "Bub" or "Sis(sy)" if that's what you call them?

  1. Whats wrong with it? My daughter gets called sissy, by myself and her brothers, they all get called bubs, and they also have their own nicknames, which we use often, and will continue to use, even when they are married with their own children... Im 27 and my dad still calls me by my nickname... They get called by their first names, by other people... Like Jilli said, its a sign of affection...

  2. They are pet names. Haven't you ever had one? My parents call me boo (and I am 21!). It is a sign of affection. It is like calling your boyfriend/girlfriend baby.

  3. Ugh. My sis calls her kids BOTH of those names. I'm with ya.
