  1. Because they're selfish and just want to do what they want, without caring about the future and how people will live then.

  2. That depends on what you mean by environmentally responsible. I don't waste stuff and recycle. But I'm not going to completely rearrange my life and go back to a hunting/gathering society in the name of the global warming boogyman.

  3. Allow me to reflect on this question while I run my other Hummer for its morning idle.

  4. I agree that is can deal with the cost of acting environmentally responsible. Also some people think that they can not make a difference, so why try. Even if you recycle just your plastics, it can help. or even switching just one light to the new bulbs designed to use less energy.

  5. Talk to the Chinese, not us...

  6. because they are stupid and only care about themselves

  7. Ask India Mexico and Red China that question

  8. It takes effort to do what's right. Americans only make an effort to do what they WANT. We are spoiled and we are about to pay heavy consequences because of it.

  9. I dont understand but it really PISSES me off!!!!!!!!!

  10. Alot of people do not like to admit that they are wrong. It might mean that some people have to do extra in there day to day activities to correct there mistakes.

  11. Responsible people act after getting all of the facts, not before. You must mean hollywood types in CA that build on desert hills that are prone to fires and mudslides, or maybe people that live in hurricane prone zones below sea level. Or maybe you mean governments that legislate in the name of the unproven AGW theory.

  12. Deliberate refusal is a level of irresponsibility and there are many levels.  That is probably the most unbalanced level.

May need to ask this question in psychology !

    Why, indeed?

***I think the *answer* will something like self-destructive, suicidal, deep seated fears, chemical imbalance in the brain, religious and/or cultural conditioning, and so on .....

***And I think the *excuse* will be something like; laying blame on bad childhood/parents, they were told to make those decisions, they were drunk at the time, they didn't understand the consequences, they did understand the consequences and want everybody and everything to die, they hated being made to go to camp every summer, and so on ....

  13. Because being not environmentally responsible is cheaper and easier and its impacts are usually not immediately apparent.
