Why do so many people say hurting animals is wrong?

Didn't God create them to entertain us? And its not like they have feelings is it?

God did not create animals to entertain us.  Animals were created and placed on earth in all their diversity to fill an important link in the balance of life on this planet.  Mankind was given stewardship over the animals.  In other words we are responsibal for the animals.  We will be called upon to answer for how we carried out this stewardship.

I have a pet rabbit. He has feelings. He plays when he's happy. He gets an attitude sometimes too. If animals didn't have feelings, they wouldn't act out on them. Like a happy puppy or a mad dog. They act out when they are abused too. They may not laugh or cry but animals do have feelings.

Beats Me --- God gave man dominion over animals so who knows why people seek false friendship in animals.
