  1. Because most people have no clue about economics and only repeat what they hear on TV.

News media can repeat over and over that we are in a recession and most peole buy it instead of realizing we haven't had 2 quarters of -GDP so no recession exists.

  2. I wouldn't do that. The economy is very personal. It is affecting a lot of people negatively. There isn't relief seen in sight. There is just a lot of bad news. Some economists know the truth and realize that certain factors were not given the consideration they deserved.

Did you see the media reports on "Staycations"?  How depressing. The last thing I want to do on vacation is stay home.

  3. Because it affects EVERYTHING that a person does and wants to do in life.

David, the fact that how they determine unemployment and have been skewing results wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with that, now WOULD it?  People are putting over $400 or more a month in gas in their cars, but has their wages gone up to cover it?  No, it hasn't.  The USA economy is hurting big time (because if people have no money to spend, then it falls flat) and there is no relief in site, either.

  4. Maybe because it effects every person.
