Question:

Why do so many people think that creating drama is the same thing as actually doing something of value?

I am amazed at the large number of people who intentionally go out of their way to seek out drama and gossip, and go blah blah blah all day about him and her and how dramatic things are.

When you give them a simple, specific solution to their situation, they ignore you and go back to nonstop drama and gossip.

What is the point of this? Is it some sort of odd belief that drawing attention to yourself and stirring sh*t up is a worthwhile, substantive endeavor?

"Look at me! My life is a constant, self-imposed vortex of unnecessary drama! I'm so cool and important!"

I don't get it.

  1. In the winners circle everyone has to take a turn at drama . It is used for group image control or just straight lying. Reality is not used to train the masses. Values are often the stage where life is found in the shadows behind. False hopes are the pitfalls that the outsider has to deal with.

  2. People create drama in their lives for many reasons.  A lot of people have lives that are so boring and unmeaningful that they feel the need to surround themselves with drama so there is something going on with them.  Many people have nothing more interesting to talk about other than people.  Did you ever hear the old adage, "Below average people talk about other people, average people talk about events, and above average people talk about ideas"?  It's often true.

  3. Could be that they are seeking attention for themselves and want others to think they have the scoop of what is going on.

Why would they listen to something that makes sense or is truth when they can manufacturer something that gets attention.

  4. Yeah ... those are attention-seekers, and they just can't live without the endless and constant pity of others.

Pity might not be the right word, but you know what I mean.  "Stroking" might be more like it?  They want to be admired so much for their suffering.

People like that are so toxic.  I just try to ignore them when I can, and refuse to get drawn into their drama.
