And they would rarely if ever enjoy the effect of low taxes. Plus low taxes for the rich most likely would negatively affect them as it would mean reduced services for example college tuition from government free heathcare social security medicare low taxes on gasoline etc etc. It just seems to be an idiot mentality running through the usa on this subject. It seems people are falling over themselves to give the rich perks. The rich who can give a a rat's foot about the poor and middle class. And I can't figure out why?

  1. hey why?

  2. The rich aleady pay more than everyone else just so you know.

As for the actualy science behind it, lower taxe stimulate buisness. When taxes are lowered people feel more comfortable about spending and starting buisnesses. So in the end, more money is made by lowering taxes.

Btw it isn't just the rich, everyone has their taxes lowered. You just only hear about the rich because people think it is most outageous when they have to pay less than they already do.

    EDIT-

Whatever your personal thoughts are about the rich, you should feel more kindly about them. It's the rich and middle class who are clearly paying for your welfare

  3. Rich folks already pay most of our taxes  and I just don't see why they should bear the burden for everyone.

  4. You need to educate yourself.

The top 1% of taxpayers pay >35% of all personal income taxes.  The bottom 50% of taxpayers pay approx. 4%.

The wealthy make more money, investment income, and spend more.  They help to make the economy go round.

Easier to obtain Government student loans only increase the price of tuition and makes universities salivate as they expand their budgets at government expense.

Amazing how you believe that confiscating less of a person's wealth (which they earned) amounts to giving them a perk.  It's their money.

  5. Because the rich are very greedy and it's the rich who run this country.

  6. The deal is this. Rich people own businesses and hire people. If you raise their taxes they will make up the difference in raising the price of products and will hire less workers. It affects us all. That money just doesn't come out of their pockets , it comes out of ours. The other negative aspect is to drive money overseas and out of the reach of the IRS. Rich people are not stupid, that's why they are rich in the first place. They will just pass on any tax to the rest of us.

  7. huh?

  8. Because rich people currently pay the bulk of personal income tax collected as revenues by the Federal government. And it is those same rich people who create the job and commercial environment which employs other people.

But, those facts don't intrude on the stupidity of the "tax the rich" crowd. I recall the imposition of a luxury tax on yachts and other large water craft. Simple. Only the rich have yachts. But, the rich aren't at the boat yard on weekends trying to nail the planks together to make that yacht. They paid others to make and maintain those yachts. And if they had to pay more for the yacht because of that tax they might not buy it in the first place. The result was quick and ugly. Boat yards and boat builders closed up shop. Workers were laid off. The shops which catered to the daily needs of those workers and their families lost some of their clientele, so they had cutbacks in their work forces. And that was just one example of the ludicrous behavior of some who write the tax codes.

The idiot mentality is that of those who do not have the faintest idea how capitalism works!
