How can so many people ignorant about the role of congress in debt, corruption and shipping away jobs. Congress can block anything a President tries to do. Congress has the power of advice and consent and can override anything any President attempts to do. How can that many citizens not know that? For instance, Joe Biden has been a central figure of this earmarking and lobbyist-led government, not McCain. Learn a little about the congress. That is where it all happens, my friends. The president has the bully pulpit and his or her personal influence, or not. Time for some serious reform in that congress.

  1. Because Bush is the main man in charge. In any family you blame the head of household for the issues the family is having and Bush is that head so he has to be held accountable for the good and bad.

  2. because the president has considerable influence over their party's congress people... DAH!  If Bush says one thing 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999... of the Republican Congressmen will say the same thing,,, SHEEPS!!!!!

  3. It's easy!  Right now the republicans are blaming the Congress led by Petosi for everything that has happened for the past 7 and a half years even though she has had only two years and a miniscule majority to work with. And,  that majority is stymied by a solid bloc of republicans refusing to consider the house cleaning demanded by the voting public during the last general election. You, in fact, are hoping that "people are ignorant"; ignorant of how much in harms way Bush and his administration has placed our country. There isn't one single area of government that the republicans have left in good shape for the incoming administration to work with. It will take years to repair the damage done during the past 8 years.

  4. You've heard the old phrase "Ignorance is bliss"?  That's how they do it.  Remain ignorant and feel "blissful", until reality slaps 'em upside their heads, which I hope happens hard, as it did me one day, decades ago.  God Bless you.

  5. because they are uneducated =D

  6. People don't care who's actually responsible, they just want a scapegoat.

  7. It does start with elected represenatives. Truly Bush hasnt been the True Conservative the Voting Republicans had hoped for. He gave in on alot of things to the Dems that he got nothing in return for. That in itself goes to show that the Dems dont really compromise...they just take what you give and give nothing in return. Dumb mistake by Bush...if you really believe your values...you DONT compromise. Not in the end. I hope one day there can be people elected that will be elected on what they stand for and people will elect them because they agree. I'm not holding my breath.

  8. well... A. Bush had a Republican control of congress for about 7 years... and I don't know who was in control... but they didn't have much of a problem passing what they wanted to pass...

    B. buck stops at the top... is if fair? not really... but it's life...

the QB always takes the blame, even if he's the best in the league with a bad o-line...

Bill and Jimmy Carter take hits from Republicans too...

just the way of the world...

  9. I've been trying to figure that one out for years.  Ask whining liberals why they blame Bush.  They will basically say "I am dumb and don't understand how economics works so I will point my finger at the President to make myself feel better."  Congress is s******g things up.  The President doesn't control the economy.  Supply and demand and Wall street does.  Plain and simple.  The ridiculous government spending and the money they fork over to everyone is more than what the country actually produces.  How is that Bush's fault?  So by protecting our country because he cares about the people is somehow a bad thing?  There hasn't been a 9/11 attack since then, has there?

  10. Currently, the Democrats are running Congress(again). They never take the blame for their mistakes, or poor performance. Democrats will always blame a Republican, if they think they can get away with it. Notice how so much has gotten more expensive since 2006 when Democrats took over Congress. Starting with fuel prices. The more it costs to fuel the truck, the more your groceries(and everything else) will cost! Truckers are not making(keeping) more money, it's all going to the Oil Companies, for their "record high profits! A Trucker's net taxable income has been going down steadily. The gross revenue goes up, but it is getting "gobbled up" by higher operating costs. Thus leaving the trucker with a smaller net profit, and you paying more for everything that must be trucked. Honest, it does not magically appear on shelves by itself.
