Why do so many teachers quit teaching so early in their careers?

Is this just a rumor or are the statistics real and viable?

 Disrespect is the one reason and the other is the lack of support from the senior teaching staff. I am on the brink of quitting this job because it's becoming unbearable. I no longer feel the enthusiasm that I had four years ago. I thought I was the only one feeling this way but apparently I am just one of the people in this world who no longeer sees teaching as a noble profession. I am contemplating of leaving this job and try something else before I completely explode.
