  1. The Federal Trade Commission maintains a National Do Not Call Registry.

The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free.

Numbers on this registry stay for 5 years.

You can register your number at this website - https://www.donotcall.gov/

  2. Im not completely sure...but they call any numbers in the area, and im sure you still had the same line even if your phone was cut off and theyve probably been waiting to reach you! haha.

  3. My friend recently gave me a number to block telemarketers. Here's the "Do Not Call" number to block those dumb telemarketers. 1-888-382-1222.

  4. How to get them off your back is to,

when you answer the phone just immediately say hold on one moment and then you yell into the background saying " mark put down that shot gun!" " your going to shoot someone like last time!" then pick up the phone again and say "sorry about that" and they will most likely hang up.

  5. I don't know why you're getting so many calls, but, if you're willing to screen your Calls with an Answering Machine, there is a way you can get most of the Calls to stop. Get a Tape Recorder, and Dial a wrong number on purpose, like 555-1234 . When it first picks up, you'll hear the three Beeps, then, "You have reached a number that is no longer in service". OK, get those first three Beeps down on Tape, and then put those three Beeps at the very beginning of your Outgoing Message. That sends a Signal to Computer Generated Calls, which is typical of Telemarketers' method of making calls, and then causes your Number to be Registered as invalid, and they won't call again. Just have your normal outgoing message after the 3 Beeps, "No one is available to take your call at this time", and you won't miss your normal messages. I read about this Trick in the Tech Section of our local Newspaper, the Raleigh, N.C. News and Observer, and tried it, and it really works ! It was Titled "The Homemade Tele-zapper". It's fun to listen to one Machine talking to another, and solving the Problem ! After awhile, you'll get very few Telemarketer Calls !
