Why do so many white people usually have negative things to say about blacks????

For the same reason most prejudice is going on in the world....they learned it. From parents, friends, and even our general society. Kids of any race are not born racist....they are taught it by the people around them.

Just like a family that believes in white superiority would poison their kids mind from day one with their rehetoric, and inner city black kids are taught not to trust "the man", and both of these kids are going to school and learning history of division instead of finding ways to unite, nearly all prejudice is handed down from generation to generation.  Granted, some is based on actual interaction with other races and bad experiences, but this is quite minor. And to condemn an entire race or religion or culture based on one or two things is sad.

As a child who grew up in an all white county in Michigan, about 2 hours north of Detroit, I had never actually had a chance to meet a black person other than when we went to clothing shows and saw people working. When I went to college, two of my best buddies had grown up in the city, they were black, and we enjoyed getting to know each others lifestyle, culture, foods and music. We studied together, got to know each other as friends and it was great. When we went back to our respective towns, the people there were not quite as understanding. Our parents were fine, but people on the street would throw things at us, cops would stop the car for no reason other than a mix of races were in the car, and other people in our social circles at home were very against our friendship. It was sad, because we drifted back apart as our careers got going. Most of the resistance was by people older than we were, but also among our own age group. I have never heard those kind of comments before....and it opened my eyes and ears to racism unlike any history book could.

its not that it is ill intended, its just people like say stuff about others to make them feel better.  Why do some people say jews are cheap?  It gives them an excuse of how a majority of a religion is successful and has a lot of money?  You don't htink of you own short comings?

because the world is stupid everything is black and white and that pisses me off that everybody has to be put in a group, a category. Even Hispanics...I am 100% latina but when some one looks at me they label me black.Don't label me.I dont even understand why they call black people black.Everybody that is "black" is not dark.Thats stupid.Why cant everybody be American?What a world we live in?

I hear much more negativity from black people towards white people than the other way around. My boyfriend is mixed race and his aunty is black, she's always going on about stupid white people.

Sheer laziness.Instead of digging deep to find the positives, most go for what's visible and obvious.Though it's not political correct to say so but on the whole,Blacks haven't acquitted themselves well in spite of all the preferential treatments meted out to them by the societies they live in.It seems they have an inbuilt barrier for joining the main stream life and continue to project themselves as victims of historical times,which doesn't help anybody as of now.
