  1. It helps when removing the bottle from the plastic forming mold.


  2. It has to do with the bottling line. Some add friction when going through the lines.

    Some help align the bottles for labeling.

  3. to keep it from tippin over, a flat bottom would just look corny, plus they would have to fill the bottles with more soda since there would be more volume to fill.
