it has come to my attention that recent studies from the european journal of human genetics discovered the somalian genetics are 85% cushitics 15% caucasian and 5% negriod they also concluded that they are homogeneous people which means they are not mixed people which everyone thought previously so my question is are somalians black? and did the europeans came from somalia since mankind migrated out of east africa? alot of somalians seem to have caucasian features

  1. Somalis have arabic blood, the Somali race was started by several Arab men who married local women. My family has Arab in them, and so do the majority of Somali people. We're proud of our ancestry too.

Funny thing, because the original Arabs were of African ancestry(Cushitic, Nilotic, Bantu, Sub-saharan, Moor-Maure, Berber), but later the Eurasian arabized arabs and original(African lineage) arabs who became watered down(mixed culturally and racially) started calling Africans who settled(and I mean settlers, not slaves) in the Meshreq, ZANJ(Black African)!

Many so-called Middle Easterns/arabs are descended from these so-called Zanj, because before the rise of Islam, many so-called Zanj married arab wives(African descent or arabized Eurasian)!!

  2. sorry i personally can't tell the difference i would think they probably look more arab since somalia has a high arab population and its a arabic speaking country
