Why do some Australians have a huge chip on their shoulder when it comes to comparing Australia with the US?

I'm an Australian & I have just read that question in this section, posted by the one who calls herself THE REAL ROGUE. It is embarrassing to read comments like she has made as not all people from Oz think like she does. She is the type who have us stereotyped as ignorant yobs. She probably has not travelled beyond the boundaries of the hick outback town she obviously dwells in.

In my experience living in Australia, I found that a lot of the people there had chips on their shoulders, particuarly towards the UK. Shame really, as Aussies (apart from in sport) are rather liked by Brits.
