  1. No one should attack anyone. We are to rebuke and encourage one another, and to help one another overcome sin. The Bible reminds us "all have fallen short of the glory of God."

If any Christian says he is perfect, he is a liar. But that doesn't remove his right to identify sin and confront it. And he should allow others to do the same towards him.

  2. I think it may be they haven't considered a few things.

The true doctrine tells us that man has a sinful nature, and though one may be saved, they still have within themselves that same "old man," or the sinful nature.

As for speaking to ANY group or individual, we warn of the consequences of sin. Now this is what many have NOT considered: That it is worthless to expect one to repent of sin, and live according to God's commands, if they themselves do not accept God to begin with.

It is God that affects the change, and by our following, we can repent. Unless God builds, the one that works will labor for nothing.

Perhaps the reason why the homosexual issue has risen to such visibility, are the recent changes in society which puts them as a group front and center, right in the public eye.

Homosexuality as an "orientation" was never known, not even throughout history. But as I wrote, as an orientation.

We as believers have been told to crucify ourselves daily, and this should show the believer that one is never freed from the sinful nature, not in this lifetime, but the ones walking by the Spirit CAN have victory through Jesus over sin.

  3. Because Christians recognize the fact that they, like everyone else, have a sin nature.  In a sense, all sins are equal because every sin is a mortal sin, a capital crime against the Creator. However, some sins, such as sexual sins, are considered worse than others. Sexual sin is considered the worst form of sin there is, because when you commit a sexual sin, you are sinning against your own body as well as God.

A Christian can recognize that they are sinful and repent of their sins. A practicing homosexual is one who is living in sin without the redemptive grace of God.

  4. Check into the teachings of the Catholic Church on homosexuality and on our own imperfections.

You might be surprised at how much sense the Catholic Church makes on this and all issues.

But so many reject it without first studying it, why do you suppose?  Because they have seen an example of an imperfect Catholic?  We are all imperfect.  The thing that many atheists do not understand is that Christians are not going to be perfect, and God knew that.

  5. Because that is what they have been taught by their priests.

  6. I agree with you. No human is perfect. Even the Bible says not to try the double standard of rational.

    Romans 2:1

You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.

  7. Apparently, many Christians seem to think that homosexuality is a bigger sin than any other sins. Probably their own excuse for all the hate they show, so they won't feel guilty about it.

    Hypocrisy at it's best really.

Note that I am well aware that there are also many open-minded Christians who do not think homosexuality is a sin or who agree that homosexuals are no more sinful than they are, thus they do not judge as much.
