Do they really think it's going to give us good enough reason to change our minds? I mean come on, if someone wants to get down and gritty and show me facts they can be a hillbilly drinking moonshine for all I care, as long as that hillbilly went to college and majored in some field of reality science.

  1. Maybe they are trying to convince themselves.

  2. It's possible that it's not all about you.

Maybe we speak that way because we think that way.

  3. Yeah.

They want to convert you but they know you don't like blind faith and bigotry so they just speak in an intellectual tone...

  4. Perhaps they are not trying to speak in an intellectual tone but there are truly great intellectuals in the Christian ranks, and many have academic credentials more impressive than yours or your hillbilly who went to college and majored in some field of reality science. If this revelation is way too big for you to accommodate, try deflating either your ego or your smug self-assurance.  It might increase your brain-cage.

  5. I think there are many intelligent Christians who are excellent examples of their religion.  Perhaps, their intellectual tone is meant to provoke thought and open discussion.

Not all Christians are the ignorant fundie kind.

  6. To be frank,as a Christian I am commissioned to give you the Gospel message which is the death, the burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ not to speak in an intellectual tone. Whether or not you believe it is totally up to you. It's not up to me to give you a "good enough reason" to change your mind. If you don't then you will have to deal with the consequences not me. I won't lose any sleep over it.  My answer may not be intellectual but I'm sure even you can understand what's been said.

Romans 10:9-10   "Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."

Do with this message what you will and do with Jesus what you will. The ball is in your court now.
