Why do some Olympic Teams ?

Like GB for example because I live in London, im saying we have such talent why arent we considered an olympic superpower like USA, China or Austrailia. They say its because we have a small squad so why?

look at the medal count...

us and china has over 2x gb medal counts.

Because we only excel in 3 sports- sailing, rowing and track cycling. Outwith those we win very few Gold medals. The British men's swimming team didn't win a single medal.

Firts time I've ever heard of us Aussies being referred to as an olympic superpower... would you care to say it again... it feels goooood...

and given that your  thrashing us at the moment... oooopps, should I have said that...

Well, people probably say that because Great Britain isn't in first, second, or third, like the USA, China or Austrailia are.

ROFL....Australia an olympic superpower? GB has more gold than the Aussies do. I mean gold medals is the only viable standard that Aussies seem to think exists. I think GB has a superb team. There are sports that GB simply doesn't concentrate on much, like baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, softball, etc. This is why they do not perform as well as some of the other countries. Australia performs better at these sports because, in their hearts, they want to be just like the USA. They idolize the USA.
