Why do some australian rugby league teams wear their anniversary badges the yr b4 the actual anniversary?

sydney roosters 100th annversary badge in 2007 when founded in 1908

manly sea eagles 60th anniversary badge in 06 but founded in 1947

newcastle knights 20th anniversary in 2007 when founded in 1988

    It's because they are celebrating the 20th year, not 20 years down the track...does that make sense?

    If you count out the Knights for example (because it's shorter), 1988 is year 1...1989 is year 2....etc until you get to 2007 which is the 20th season for the club.  

    Same for all the foundation clubs...that are left...this is the 100th season.

    I really don't know, pretty stupid when you think about it.

    I doubt there would be to many many people lining up for a Newcastle badge, sad if they did.
