I always use bubble baths, foam baths, cream baths etc. and I just read the back of the bottle of one of my new bubble baths I bought yesterday and it said for adult use only. But why is for adult use only if its just going to wash right off of your skin? I just took a bath using that product after I discovered what it said. thx

  1. You  might throw the baby out with the bathwater?

An infant's skin is more sensitive than an adult's- assume they have had problems with irritation.

  2. Hey, Cookie!  <3

Usually the reason of bath products being recommended for adult use only is because of the more harsh ingredients that can cause kidney and bladder infections.  Thats why it is always a good idea to shower off after your bubble baths just to make sure all of the soap is completely rinsed off.  Girls can get kidney infections very easily (especially if you have a lot of allergies or are sensitive).  Talk to you soon, Cookie!!

    warmest regards..

  3. because u know how kids are. and they like to put anything in there mouth and plus parents dont pay attention to what the kids are doing. i see it on the new a few times of kids drinking bubble baths and the parents freak out and wait and try to help them then they get sick. because the parents where not watching to see what the kids did.

  4. Girl , I really don't know , but jsut guessing , I wouild say that it probably has something to do with sensuality either for yourself or for your partner . It's probably used so that  adults can bathe together and not worry about ingesting soap or something like that . I really do not know for sure , but I would not worry about it even if you used it , it won't hurt you I'm sure unless it gives you some kind of feeling you have never experienced before. And then again it could be that they put for adults only on the bottle so more kids would buy it . If they sold it to you , it can not be anything big .

I hope this helped you and good luck . God bless you . You are a smart , pretty , and loyal young girl  . Stay that way and continue to work on Dad . Keep asking the questions and I will keep reswponding

  5. I think because some of the bubble stuff might be hazardous if you eat a whole bunch of it.  You know how kids are, they put everything in their mouths.  They might get sick if they eat too many of the bubbles.

  6. The PP may be right, although I don't really know that eating those kinds of soaps would be any worse than any other.   Lots of kids are sensitive to the perfumes they use in those kinds of products, though, so they're probably trying to protect themselves about skin sensitivity issues by marking them as "adult use only."

It used to be a truism in pediatrics that bubble baths in young girls were a source of urinary tract infections.  According to most of my attendings and teachers, this has not been borne out by studies, but you also find a lot of doctors and parents alike who will anecdotally tell you that it's true.  They may also be worried that if a child gets a UTI after using the product, they'll be blamed for that.
