Why do some cameras upload videos without sound?

  1. maybe because they are not working correctly or the mic is not attached. All cams record with sound....


  2. Videos are normally HUGE files, but software, usually referred to as a "codec" can save the images from the camera into smaller files on a removable card, such as an SD card, CF card, etc.

    The problem is some camera manufacturers use a slightly different codec to save a video than the player on your computer. Usually the camera will come with an install CD that has the exact codec you need for both picture and sound.

    Sometimes one is not available, but often you can find free video players online such as the free VLC player, at http://www.videolan.org/ that can play video files that use various codecs.
