Why do some car speedometers needle rest on 10 or 20 and not 0?

Does this mean it reads fast all the time?

  3. No it doesnt, they just won't register any speeds lower than that.

  4. my car rest on 0. my car is a BMW.

  5. because there not tuned properly and yes if it starts higher then it will give you a higher reading then the speed that you are traveling at.

  6. depends on the car...if it rests at 20 the it wont move till your doing 21....some bike rev counters dont start till 3000 rpm's...
