Question:

Why do some cats give birth to one kitten?

Is it because if they give birth for the first time in their life, it's one kitten and the next time will be more? Just asking. I have 2 kittens, no mother cat. No one's pregnant or had a baby (speaking of cats) incase you're wondering. Just curious.

  1. Because it only go together once. Especially if it is a first litter.

    after that they have more and more... 1 - 3- 5- 6

So they need to be spayed BEFORE the FIRST LITTER!

MAKE SURE TO HAVE YOUR KITTENS ARE SPAYED/NEUTERED SOON!

  2. Mine had 6 for her first litter.

    Guess it just depends.

  3. A litter of kittens can be born with all different fathers.  We had a cat give birth at our house, two were all orange, one white and one black.  The vet said it was probably 2 or three different fathers.  This could explain why your cat only had one kitten.  Although it isn't that unusual, I've heard of this happening a lot.
