Why do some clubs/lounges do this?

I love to go to upscale lounges/clubs in NYC. i Have always gotten it with promoters I know with no prob. I have heard stories from promoters that they have brought people to these same clubs and the doorman would not let them in. He would instead tell the promoter who can and cannot come in..and it usually is not allowing all of them to come in. I thought that if you know a promoter you should always get in...why are upscale lounges/clubs like this and etc?

Because they can be, Just think if you were in control of a big club.

You have the wright to do what you like it mite not look good for the club

but if they are always packed it just don't matter to them. It's Like Restaurants that just throw food out and don't care how it looks and then they start to wonder why they no longer have people walking in the door.

They do this to keep people coming. If a club has a tight door people start to wonder whats so great about this place and they want to go and check it out...

because they like that they are dogs. Im from nyc so i can relate to this problem.

The harder it is to get into a club the more people want to go there.

Also there is a lot of politics surrounding clubs and promoters. A lot goes on that people don't know about. It makes it hard to explain why some clubs mess with some promoters.
