Why do some countries say hasta luego instead of adios?

Why do you say see ya instead of bye.

It's cultural difference.

I say different things, like chau, luego, adios, etc.

Why do you say see you later instead of good bye? Same reason because in Spain we can say both, they just have different meanings.

Hasta luego = see you later

Adiós = good bye

I think both are used in Spanish-speaking countries.

I noticed that in Spain, "hasta luego" is used a lot, even if you won't see the person again that day. It's just a little friendlier.

They both indicate farewell, "hasta luego" is used when you're likely to see the person again. These two forms are used everywhere. They are not necessarily typical of a country in particular

I think its just a regional variance - similar to the difference in english of Hello and Hi - just a difference in dialect.

Adios means "to God".  Some say that adios is a final goodbye, so they prefer to say something like "hasta luego" because it means until later... not final.

Because hispanics think that "hasta luego" means i see you LATER and "adiós" means i see you NEVER. Do you get it.?
