Why do some developed countries (U.S.) like to keep developing countries in serious debt?

"Another cause for large scale debt has been the corruption and embezzlement of money by the elite in developing countries (who were often placed in power by the powerful countries themselves). These moneys are often placed in foreign banks (and used to loan back to the developing countries). Many loans also come with conditions, that include preferential exports etc. In effect then, more money comes out of the developing countries than is given in. This depresses wages even further due to the spiraling circle downwards to ensure that enough exports are produced."

Even global organizations like the World Bank, IMF, WTO, G8, and others are keeping poor countries in debt on purpose. That's why there have been large mass protests around the world

But of course the American media never reports on this

  1. Non-OECD Nations are primarily affected by this. However, today's developed nations will see themselves fall in power and importance the closer we get to the mid century. By 2050, power and economic prowess, will shift from the U.S. and Europe, to Latin America and Asia (Predominantly China, India, Russia, Brazil, Mexico and South Korea) Knowing China, China will attempt to force concessions from the U.S. and the current developed world, similar to those they have forced from China in the past. India will probably try to become the "Europe" of the developed world by 2050. Russia may re-achieve the status it once had as the USSR, Brazil will more than likely become the financial capital of the world, drawing attention away from the U.S. making Rio de Janeiro, the next New York, Mexico will likely become the telecommunications capital of the world eclipsing Japan and all the European powers substantially (This is currently already happening as Carlos Slim continues to buy out Latin American and European telecom companies and moving them to Mexico), while South Korea likely will become the world's most highly developed country on earth. (Eclipsing today's Switzerland)
