  1. You don't sound like a socialist... paranoid maybe but not socialist..

So you think that someone who doubts global warming is automatically a religious nut?

Sounds like you have a problem with those who think...as opposed to swallowing the eco-c**p spewed by the press and he government.

  2. it is dismissed because of misdiagnosis of the earth  for example : we as civilization were supposed to outgrow our availability to feed ourselves = too many people not enough food  the fish in the oceans were to have disappeared, the birds in Nam were to have all died its things like that that make you say hmmmm! i mean really do these new light bulbs save our world or does the mercury contained in them help by killing our children when accidentally breaking them?

  3. I think the problem most religious nuts have with it is the assumption that if science is right, religion is wrong.  The fallacy being that science in no way refutes religion.  That has never been its purpose and never will be.  All it does is seek to understand the world around us.

I would think that religious folks should listen more and seek to understand when people talk about global climate change instead of just accepting everything their pastor or politicians say.  (look at the evidence, draw conclusions.  It's easy guys.)  The Bible says we are the custodians of God's creation.  Frankly, I think Jesus would be rather unhappy if he came back and saw what a mess we've made of everything.  As far as I can tell, we're still in the business of turning the Garden of Eden into a desert.

  4. "Eco  spewed by the media" as someone here said is the only c**p that is being spewed here.

What would it take to make people understand that even if the global warming theories are all hogwash, that doesn't change the fact that we are destroying the environment.  The media, and people like this poster, still put out the message that enviromentalists are some kind of kooks or extremists.  This is still the most common attitude in America when it comes to the environment.  A bunch of lemmings is what most Americans are.  We have been trying to warn you that we are destroying our mother earth's ecosystems for at least fourty years now.  And you are still swayed by those who have a vested interest in continuing to do things that don't work.  By every conceivable measure, we are killing the planet.

Someone else said Bush didn't censor the climate change report.  He most certainly did.

There was a CBS documentary last week where the head of the science team who did the study said that scientists couldn't speak the truth under the Bush administration. He showed line for line how Bush's lawyers changed the wording of the report to take any real meaning and impact out of the report.  He had to quit, in order to let the world know what the scientists actually learned.

If you are going to make absurd statements like that democrats are all socialists, then you are going to have to be honest and make the equally absurd statement that all Republicans are fascists.

And speaking of religion, the belief in the unfailing vertues of capitalism and some utopian free market idea is a religion in itself, one which people cling to as religiously as any fundamentalist religous believer does to his dogma.

When in actuallity the very corporations that  would be unfettered without some regulations, are themselves the biggest obstacles to any possible free market.

They control our government policy making process and our election process and our economy.  Where in that do you see a free market?

Capitalism is an ok system, but it has serious faults, which is obvious to anyone with a modicum of intelligence.  Most of the countries in Europe have capitalist systems along with social programs, very similar to what we have.  And many have higher standards of living than we do.

Workers in Germany pay a larger percent in taxes, have universal health care, and still take home more than we do, working  less hours a week and getting about twice the vacation time that we do.

America has the worst distribution of wealth in the industrialized world.  It wasn't always that way.  And it is getting worse and worse.  And all the Republican  solutions amount to taxing the rich less.  Every Republican proposal serves to do one thing, increase this disparity in wealth and empower the already rich and powerful.

Trickle down economics?  There has been a niagra falls going in the other direction. Wake up.

  5. Because nothing they have predicted has come true.

    The science used is bad.

Al Gore is a politician making millions off of this belief and owns a company that sells carbon credits what ever they are.

The Sun is the most influential factor in global warming.

The people who spout it all live in huge energy inefficient houses, travel by private jets and ride around in limos so the hypocrisy rate is huge.

Ice ages have occurred in the past and man had nothing to do with that and the earth had to warm up to get out of the ice ages somehow.

    Carbon is not a pollutant.

The Bush Admin does not censor anything sorry.

Why are all global warming confrences always snowed out?

  6. you sound like a socialist.

  7. You sound like a Democrat.  Democrats are led primarily by socialists.  You also sound like you are susceptible to stories of conspiracies.  Conspiracies are always entertaining but seldom true.  Your snide remark about Jesus is typical of alarmists demonstrating an arrogance that anyone who is skeptical of human caused harmful warming is somehow to be dismissed as a Jesus freak or someone that doesn't understand science.  You claim that the Bush administration has censored scientists yet there is obviously no censorship.  On the contrary, all sorts of idiotic theories are pushed on the populace daily.  Do you really believe that Bush censors the media.  I think the New York Times would be amused by that.

  8. its because they are ignorant.

to the dude above me - blame the sun, cause thats the only thing that makes sense....

    dumbass.

  9. That's great, I love it, keep it up!!!!:)

  10. Not many folks dismiss global warming, they doubt the veracity of the theories predicting catastrophic outcomes based on assumptive modeling and dubious analysis.

  11. sorry for the late answer,

global warming is a natural phemominon and so are ice ages, however the global warming we are experiencing now is obviously our fault, though some believe it is not, they believe that its naturaly occuring

  12. Your last statement is a load of ___!

As for Anthropogenic Global Warming - It is an invention. Since it's made up by scientists and people who want to believe humans can effect the climate in a major way.

If that's true than the simplest and cheapest solution is to move the farmers away from the rain forest region and replant the sections (Plus some) that have been cut down. (I know people claim it can't be done, but have they even tried to do it in a major way? I highly doubt that they have. I figure once the trees take root the rest of the ground cover and other flora and fauna will reclaim the area too. I can see if we were to try to grow a rain forest where one never existed that we'd run into problems. But it would seem reasonable that the more trees we plant, the more blue green algae we cultivate the more CO2 we will sequester from the atmosphere.)

But governments only want to think of ways to get more taxes out of the people they govern and a belief in Anthropogenic Global Warming is a way yo do that.

  13. Ignorance.

  14. Science is the business of raising grants to do more science. If all agreed, there would not be enough money to go around. Opposing views - everybody eats.

  15. fear mostly.. they are afraid of Global Warming.. and yet the Jesus thing makes them feel good...

I watched a frightening show called JESUS CAMP.. in it Evangelical Christains were home schooling..

they were learning about Global Warming and while not denying it was real this is what was said.

mom: "so should we be worried?"

    kid : "no"

mom: " right, because Jesus will come down and save us first"

so basically they feel they dont have to care... pretty lame huh?
