I thought it was against the law unless visibility was less then 100metres. I wonder if its because the drivers are wearing sunglasses....

  1. I have come to the conclusion that they need the extra light because it's a lot darker when your head is up your ***....

  2. Never heard of a law restricting the use of fog lamps.  As for why people use them at night with no fog, they just want to be noticed.  "Hey look at me don't I have a cool car, it has fog lamps and all"

  3. they use their fog lights to increase the distance they can see.  but on the flip side of that deal, if they don't turn them off when someone come from in front of them, its the same affect as if they have their high beam head lights on, the other driver gets blinded and their visual distance get decreased.

  4. I think a lot of it is 'show off'. It's like the red necks that like to put a rack on their trucks and a broad array of lights on them and light them up at night. Even if they aren't shinning in you're face. they still are way too much light and are distracting. When some one does and I think they are too much light coming at me, I instintly turn my brights on and leave them untill they pass. This gives them a hint that you would rather that they TURN THE *$%#@(^#$ THINGS OFF> And fog lights can be just as bad.

  5. In the UK it is an offence to have the fog lights on when it is not fogy,,

as the term states FOG LAMPS,

they are very bright and the glare from them is offputing to other drivers,, especially the rear fog lamps when left on in clear visibility

  6. I keep mine on and it's not against the law, at least in NY it's not.  And yeah I put them on because it makes my car look hotter.
