Why do some feel Obama doesn't have what it takes to be our President?

I might be opening something that may cause a lot of conflict but I am curious to know how people actually feel. Whether you are for Obama or against him!

Is it because he is an African-American? Is it because he has no military experience?

Or is it because he is speaking on the truth and people can not handle the truth?

I am a democrat always has and always will be. Yes he has made history becoming the first African-American Presidential Candidate, but honestly people why have so much negative views on the man?

Why ask dumb @$$ questions on will he legalize marijuana? Or will he go to Africa where his father family lives and visit them in their huts? This is all racist remarks if you ask me and frankly America is still judging by the color!

Some may disagree with me and say its not because Obama is black, but there are some brainless individuals who don't even excercise their right to vote but have the nerve to state opinions.

I don't have any issues against McCain, he was a POW, and I have nothing but respect for the man. I don't agree with things he has stated but its just my opinion.

I just want to know your views on this.

  1. Because progression is slow.  If it ever comes at all.

  2. I personally think either candidate can take the office just like you and me, but McCain is more for the people with lower taxes for eveyone and yes, taxbreaks for big companies.  Everyone will see a different side of candidates, no matter which color race religion, or whatever , I just look at the moral issues.  Who you associate with tells a lot about you and Obama has made some unfortunate friends.

  3. Because he's black!! - Sad but true!

  4. What is the truth?  What is hope?  What is change?  The only thing that comes out of Senator Obama's mouth are useless soundbites.  And yes race does have something to do with it, it helps him.  If his name was John Smith no one would know who the heck he was.

  5. To answer your questions in order:

    1. No, I do not care if he is African-American or that he has no military experience.

    2. Truth and politics are not synonymous. Sure, some of what he says is accurate information. Some of the things he says are a spin to further him toward his goal. Much of what he says is ideological, meaning he supports a particular view point on the political spectrum.

    3. I don't really have a negative view of the man. I certainly don't agree with the "dumb" questions people ask. However, there are just as many dumb questions asked about McCain by the same amount, if not more people. Intelligence, regardless of what the liberals claim, is not synonymous with political leaning.

The reason I don't support Obama is specifically do to his platform. I do not agree that larger government is going to solve our problems. This is his philosophy as it is yours. I do not think that much of what he advocates is in the realm of human nature. Nor do I think that terms such as 'sensitizing,' 'enlightening,' or 'reeducating' other people to accept these ideas outside of said nature is possible or appropriate. I do not believe people are so irrational as to need intervention from the government... a government that has brought us social security, welfare, medicare, and a botched attempt to reconvert a people who will never except our views. All of which were and are huge failures.

In addition Obama and Biden have not shown a good record at working across party lines, and with a congress this divided (majority democrat) they have accomplished nothing but the lowest congresional approval rating in history. Whether McCain could fix that remains to be seen, but he has at least shown that he will disagree with his parties policies when he believes them to be wrong, as has Palin.

To sum it up my reasons for not supporting him have nothing to do with his skin color, or what any of the idiots say. It stems from my ideas on entropy. It applies to the nature of everything.... even politics. Thanks for asking a non boneheaded question though.

  6. Okay I'll tackle your question.

I believe in lower taxes for ALL.

I believe social security is a burden on the economy, and will continue to be.  I don't think it's fixable, contrary to what Obama says.

Obama HAS shown much inexperience in dealing with Iran, or at least what he says about Iran. It took him a while to acknowledge Iran as a threat, which really bothers me.

I am AGAINST gun control, it is just plain foolish.

Universal health care would never work, look at Canada...would we really benefit from that?

Obama has switched his position on oil (specifically domestic drilling)

    many times.

I don't believe in killing babies.

That's why I believe McCain would be a better choice.  And fyi, don't play the race card.  Statistics show that blacks have more potential of being racist in this election.

  7. I just think his arrogant attitude will turn off a lot of big guys in other countries.  That's not the way to go about things.  You have to have a certain amount of it, but not over and over and over and over again and again and again.  That's outrageous.  It will definitely make the others feel like he's better than the rest of them.  No, no no no no no.

  8. Because he's not a WASP!  It's still amazes me that so many in the GOP still are so racist!

  9. mainly fear

  10. Its beacause he is inexperienced and a marxist!

  11. This is one of the most mature questions I have seen as far as Obama and McCain are concerned. I am not a democrat or republican. I always vote for the candidate I think is for the betterment of our country. In this case, I will vote for Obama. Thus, for this election, I am referring to myself as a democrat. I am white. I don't care what color anyone is. I don't judge people that way. I have a lot of respect for McCain's service record. I don't however fully respect him as a person, and that of course is my own opinion, which I am free to have. I voted for Bush, and have regretted it for years. I think McCain's policies are too much like his, and I don't see how he can really grasp what most American people are going through. I realize that there are many people who like McCain, and that is fine. If everyone felt the same about everything, this would be one more boring place. When you ask a question on here and you hint at who you like in this race, there are so many rude answers, I guess some people believe that they are the only ones entitled to an opinion.

  12. They don't like black people!!!

  13. He is hiding his past.  He has been caught lying.  He went to crazy church for 20 years.  He has BAD Policies and don't support NEW ENERGY!  Without new energy we will be paying 10 bucks a gallon for gas, and thats what the demos want us to pay-  Pelosi won't admit it but that is what she believes will "save the planet"  we just don't know what planet she is from or wants to save exactly.    PELOSI= Obama and thats SCARY!

    NO BAMA!

    DRILL HERE DRILL NOW

    BUILD NEW NUCLEAR PLANTS

    NO MORE UNIONS!

    NO MORE INFLATION!

No more wasteful spending!    obama asked for aver. 1 million a day! Even gave his buddy Pfleger 200,000 in earmarks and Michelles Hosp.

    McCain asks for-nothing!

    VOTE McCain!

  14. Good question.

    Apparently, he is.

He must be doing SOMETHING right, he's leading in the polls.

Furthermore, the Repubs. really cannot argue inexperience anymore.

  15. The US is not the country for socialist marxist type of leadership promoted here by this candidate. Democracy is a far cry from his rhetoric. Also being the most liberal out of the entire Senate makes a person an extremist. We do not need such extremes in charge of this nation plain and simple. Also, the record in the Senate is deplorable. Look it up and see for yourself too.

  16. He is an ex muslim and black.

AHHHHHHHHHHH AMERICA WILL BURN IN THIS BLACK MUSLIM BASED REVOLUTION!!

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
