  1. for a great focal point from the road.

  2. There are all kinds of myths and urban legends about red doors, and these have made red doors more popular. I've attached a link that lists many of them.  Red paint was also historically easier to formulate than other colours: if you wanted your door to be a different colour than the rest of the exterior, red was often your best and cheapest choice.

  3. maybe that door is painted red because it is facing south direction

  4. When i was living in Italy i noticed that a lot of the doors were painted red, after discussion with different people on this topic the 3 same answers usually popped up -

    1) red is an aggression color.. it can also symbolize romance, love and health (heart, blood etc) ... the doors were painted that color by the tenants out of superstition.

    2) If the house is facing a certain way it is supposed to bring good fortune

    3) it brings a beautiful focal point to aplethoraa of similar housing blocks.

If it were me i would paint it because red looks wonderful and inviting! (unless masked with goblins and gargoyles around the entrance! - then i would be staying away!)

  5. It is suppose  to bring you good luck.

  6. because they like the color!

  7. one year i had my door brickyard red....loved it

  8. You might laugh but some people just do it to make their front door standout.

  9. Painting the door red defines a space and the point of entry. It is inviting as it draws you in, and it also adds some interest.

  10. I saw a segment on one of those home and garden channels that said it gives the front of your house a "bold" statement and gives it curb appeal.
