Why do some foods remain hot much longer than others at dinner?

  1. weight, volume, the dish that it is in, the pot it was cooked in, something coming out of the oven would stay at warmer temps then something on the stove.


  2. The density. Think of how much cool air can get o the middle of a bundle of broccoli...versus how much air can cool down a scoop of masshed potatoes!  

  3. well i think it has to do with certain foods trapping heat. for example, probably mashed potatoes will stay hot longer than soup because soup is thin and exposed, and mashed potatoes can trap air and hot steam and it wont let it go until you finally break them open. mmmm now i really want mashed potatoes. :)))
