Because girls are generally more mature than guys their own age. A 13-19 age difference is a crush because she sees him as not quite an adult but someone older with "experience". However... that much of an age gap at the age is unacceptable.

I'm fourteen and all guy my age talk about is s*x and b***s yuck! but I like this 19 year old because he can carry on a conversation. He's very very smart. he has the same interests as me and not to mention he's the hottest guy on the planet!! haha  but really it's because he understands me.

As a teen I think it is because they want to feel loved and older men are great actors when there is something they want.

As adults I think women like older men because they are more mature and they can connect better with them.

There is a big difference between two legal adults of different ages dating vs a young teen and an older man.

Some of them could be looking for a male figure in their life (ie, daddy issues) but most of it is that they want to feel more mature and dating an older guy does that, not to mention girls mature mentally faster than boys so they boys their age arent really up to par with them. Although personally i think mom's and dad's need to tell their 13 year old there is no way they are seeing a 19 year old forcing them to make due wiht the boys in their grade

Well sometimes its for a 'rep' , Sometimes because they can drive and get served for alcohol and cigs and they are more mature and other times its because age generally does not matter. As long as the guy doesnt take advantage i dont see any wrong in it.

bcuz all the boys ther age are immature and look for s*x and play with action figures. lol.  and what they see in older men is stability and caring-ness.. but it ends up that the older men are only looking for s*x and the young ones arent.....

If a 13 year old has the maturity of an 18 or 19 year old she'd rather date a 18-19 year old rather than a boy her age.
