Why do some girls / women act so weak?

Honestly it's pathetic. From saying, 'oh, I can't possibly lift that box' to 'oh, I've broken a nail, my life is over'. Who the h**l raised these women? Shouldn't someone give them a kick up the **** and tell them to toughen up?

Do these kinds of women only 'play up' in the presence of men? Would they act more like mature women if there weren't any men around?

  3. Some also act dumb to. They think it will make guys like them. lol

  4. IM GUESSIN UR A l***o

  5. i agreee, but i think its how there raised too.

cause if there parents have them doing whatever they want and never doing things around the house. and lifting boxing etc. they turn up to be like that..

  6. Unless its a couch im lifting...I'm good.

Last time I got help lifting a watermelon, was when i was 9 months preggers, guy just would not let me do it. He was sweet.

If the guys want to help me thats cool, if not I roll up my sleeves and do it myself. And if I dont think I can lift something, h**l just ask for help like a normal person!

  7. They're just lazy drama queens.  Highly annoying, children stuck in adult bodies.

I agree the parents should be punished for it.

  8. I'm guilty of playing the blonde role to get men to do things for me, even though they don;t buy that I "can't do it"

  9. ur my kinda gal

  10. Some women are like that but I think they are in the minority. Most of the women I know aren't like that.

  11. Possibly some girls/women actually ARE weak?  Or perhaps they don't particularly want to be used as beasts of burden by men, so that's their reason for saying that the boxes are too heavy etc?  There are plenty of countries in the world where women are expected to do the heavy lifting, but they are not on the whole countries where women have particularly high status.

  12. well my man dosent mind lifting a heavy box for me.....he dosent thinks its unattractive to expect some help from a person who weighs a 100 lbs more than me and knowing things are easier for him to lift....what kinda guy would he be if he didnt help out a girl whos noticably weaker??

i dont think its pathetic..its like opening a door for the elderly... why not help the little guy(girl)??its good manners to me.. id help a little kid carry something heavy.

  13. It annoys me too, they probably just do it for attention.

  14. i'm not weak and consider myself a feminist. however, yeah, i will ask for help if i can't lift something and at 5'5 there are things i can't reach. there is no shame in asking for help if you need it.

i don't "play up" and i don't have nails.  there are some GIRLS like this, but like i said, they are girls not women.

  15. <raises a glass and agrees>

they give us all a bad name.

  16. I see two causes.

    1) They've received praise and seen others praised for weak behavior that's been labeled "feminine."

    2) They've been criticized while growing up to think that they can't do anything right or worthwhile.

The sad thing is this weakness contributes to someone thinking they deserve to be beaten or to letting others make life choices for one.

  17. Some women will do the whole damsel in distress act to attract men they like, its ok if a women is genuinely weak, but if its just an act to get attention then its pretty pathetic!

  18. Truthfully, I have never met anyone like this, I always assumed they only existed on TV.

  19. oh..my..do you know how hard it was to type this answer?

    i just about fainted...

    oh woe is me! lol

yeah that is a little over the top

now if something is too heavy then i see nothing wrong with saying it is..

and i do understand about the nail thing...some ppl ( like myself) have a hard time growing thier nails..so when they break..it really pisses me off..im like

" GAH f*ck..ive been trying so hard to grow my nails and the little F*ckers go and break on me! dammit dammit dammit!"

and then out of anger i bite them all off! I know..so spastic.

but i dont think my life is over.

  20. Well, that sounds like a stereotype! And feminists are far too pure and holy to wallow in the filth of generalizations!

  21. They think being useless is the only way to get attention from men. If only they tried to have a personality instead!

  22. It's a learned behavior. Some girls had their father's and older brother's do things for them all their lives. It's all they know. It is really hard to teach old dogd new tricks.

  23. They normally have older brothers who did everything for them through childhood.

Mind you it is no worse than the offended feminist act. Why do some girls take offence when you open a door for them, or offer to carry a couple of their half dozen suitcases?  I do the same thing for men, what's the big deal?

  24. In my experience, the women who act like this generally have very little going on upstairs (and plenty going on in the basement).

  25. What do you mean act ? I benchpress 220 lbs easy, how much do you benchpress ?

  26. The schools.  I know I'm not the only one who has noticed that American schools are teaching girls to be nothing more or less than playthings.  They're supposed to know about fashion, or else they're "uncool" (or whatever the h**l the term is these days).  They're supposed to have L*****n flings or else they're not "hot".  They're supposed to do all these terrible, chemical things to their bodies for beauty and supposed "hygiene", so that they can attract their mates.

Seriously, I heard one girl complaining because her sister died a virgin.  And she thinks it's the most horrible way to go, because everybody is supposed to have s*x.  She didn't even consider that her sister never found anybody worth her time or body, and she didn't even consider that her sister was happy.  She was a virgin... how terrible.

What works in other countries is that girls are left to their own devices.  Needless to say, there is still peer pressure and propaganda, but, generally, girls are more mature and steadfast in their beliefs.  Even in China, where girls are "useless" and undervalued.  A chinese girl knew about hard work, she knew about freedom, and she also knew that her life was going to be bitter because of the choices her father made for her.

The truth is that American girls are pampered and conditioned from birth to be "girly".  When they get older, the only thing they know how to do is step aside and let the "muscles" do the work.  As long as their mascara isn't smudged, they're good.

  27. Some are just lazy high maintenance chicks who have no sense of or clue how to be an independant woman and just can't do anything for themselves. Some are really like that and some play it up because they think that guys like that. In actuality guys like independant, self sufficient woman, not needy dingbats. This has nothing to do with heavy boxes, yeah, sometimes things are heavy and jars are hard to open, I don't think that is the point, I think the point is the weak woman who couldn't support themselves or survive without a man's money to care of them. Guessing all of these thumbs down are coming from all of those needy dependant dingbats.

  28. I sometimes actually am that weak and I am not going to put my back out merely to appease the viewpoint that women like me who ask for help with certain physical things such as luggage, boxes etc 'play up' or have very little going on upstairs. Men often are physically stronger then I am and I am not in denial of the fact and readily seek help for these things. I am a mature woman which means I can admit these things instead of proudly and egotistically feigning my apparent self same 'physical prowess' as a man.

Having said that women are alot stronger then has been societally portrayed if we live salubrious and healthy lives.

P.S enjoy lifting beds and wardrobes up flights of stairs. I shall be getting some men to do it!

EDIT: ego ego ego...If I need help I ask for it from men or women. Most women are stronger then me too. Sometimes I can't open a tap, genuinely. I have tiny hands. There you have it!

  29. Because they were raised by parents who allowed this behavior.  When something was "too hard", "too heavy", or a "challenge", the daddy came over and did it for the little girl.  And the mother was probably just as weak.

Example:  At work, me and one of my guys were going to load a 300 lb. grill into a customer's truck.  The customers were a married couple.  The lady was freaking out and telling her husband to help me and do it for me.  That a woman shouldn't be doing that.  She even said outright, "You can't lift that honey".  I just looked at my guy, and he looked at me, and I said, "She doesn't know me, does she?".  My guy said "Nope!".  Then he and I got down and loaded up the merchandise.  The woman just stood there with her mouth open.  I looked at her and said, "I told you I could do it".

This woman could do it too, but she has been conditioned to think that just because she's a woman that she cannot.  This conditioning is false and self destructive.  Putting limits where there are none.

  30. Where I work.. I will occasionally need a box of paper out of the warehouse.. I "could" lift it.. I'm capable.. but in a dress and heels.. I'm not going to.  There is a nice guy out in the warehouse and he doesn't mind bringing it up for me.

That's probably quite "girly" of me.. but I really see no need to turn my ankle over or stain up the front of my dress.

I bite my nails before they get a chance to "break" though.. horrible habit.
