  1. I could never figure this one out myself.

Some guys are just fat headed when it comes to these things.

The question here should be whether or not the girl actually cares that much.

  2. In the U.S. military ships and planes were referred to as 'she' or 'her' in honor of the women that the servicemen left back at home. It was their way of connecting to their wives, fiancees, and sweethearts back home. Our flag Old Glory and America in general are also referred to as 'she' and 'her', and there's always the Statue of Liberty to reinforce the idea of America being a strong female.

  3. Yes people refer to ships, cars etc as women. Maybe because they feel a real fondness for the item, so being hetrosexual they link it more to being a female that they love and want to care for.

  4. Mother nature is a she uncontrollable, its like saying we will go down there ! or they will need to come up here, males fall in love with cars and toys so its proper to say its a she, unless he is a she then he will call it him ,?

  5. Hurricaines used to be named only after men.

Why? because they always headed towards the Virgin Islands:).

  6. maybe the car is a substitute girlfriend?

or maybe they want to be sailors? aren't ships traditionally called 'she'?

  7. Some people still refer to countries as female too. I never understood it myself, but it could be a left over from when English used gender specific nouns like most European languages do.
