Why do some gymnastics federations ban gymnasts from wearing nude colored leotards?

Gymnastics is Greek for "exercising nude". Why you can have every other color but not nude?

Because it makes you the gymnast look like their naked. Its's inappropiate.

I am an acrobatic gymnast, so I'm not sure if these rules apply to artistic gymnastics or not. But in my sport, you can wear nude colored fabric, as long as it is not on or below your stomach, or on your chest. The reason for this is it looks bad if you look naked while you are doing your routines.
