shawn johnson just hasn't had a big growth spurt yet. I remember dominique moceanu was very tiny in the atlanta games, but shse had a big growth spurt and i think she is about 5"4 or something. shawn will get bigger. nastia is 5"3, so i doubt she will get much bigger considering her age.

Nastia is Russian, she wasn't raised on McDonalds.

Could be genetics. Nastia is probably just as muscular, but it doesn't show as much. She's also much taller than Shawn :)

Not true, Shawn is just short and muscular, while Nastia is long and lean! Shawn is only 4'9" and 90lbs (that's not much of a tank...) They're both in tremendous shape!

have nastia next to any of the chinese girls (yes girls) gymnasts and see whos the twig then)

nastia is taller than shawn but she does weight more. gymnasts typically do have big thighs but nastia is less muscle based.

It's just differences in build. All people are built differently. And as for the people who say Shawn is "fat" - I'd like to see you even do half of what she can do easily. She is just built a little differently than some gymnasts (like Nastia), but is still very good at what she does. What you will find similar in all gymnasts is muscle mass. It takes a lot of strength to swing yourself around on bars and support all your weight on your hands. Everyone is different.

Only reason Shawn looks like a tank is because she has very muscular legs. Have you seen Shawn's quads, they are huge ( which is hot )
