Why do some knock Mussina's 3.70 ERA as high when Glavine's is 3.53 (not much lower)?

What would be another reason for not regarding Mussina as a future HOFer?

Mussina has never won a Cy Young, hasn't won 300 games, never won 20 games in a season and never won a World Series.

Glavine's won well over 300 games, won 20 games or more 5 times, won 2 Cy Young awards and pitched on a World Series winner for Atlanta. h**l, he's even a good hitter and fielder.

So, that will tell you why Glavine is considered a lock for the HoF and Mussina is not.

i think the moose had a great career. 3.70 is a good ERA to have. i dont know why people would knock it.

Hof's based on numbers...if he can pitch a few more season get to 300 wins or at least pitch well in the post season, he might make it....you're right about his era being overated, he's having a great season

Moose has an outside chance of winning 300 games.  If he does I'm sure he will be elected into the hall of fame.  If not, he will have a few things going against him.  He has never won 20 games, never won a world series and never won a Cy Young award.

Personally I like Mussina.  He is a very reliable starter.  He goes out there every fifth day and for the most part gives the Yankees a chance to win.

Like I said, if he can win 300 games it won't matter that he didn't accomplish the other things I've mentioned.
