Why do some males think it's ok to diss or nitpick women apart who are already pretty?

Now those are the alpha males that talk about women like they already have trophy wives, but you don't see them all the time and they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Males talk about wanting a trophy wife so badly. Does that ever bother you ladies?

Its the same reasons domestic abuse exists. Control.

The man has a low self esteem so he trys to drag her down with him.

Of course it bothers us. Especially when you've lived it.

Women have got to learn to stand up for themselves and remember, that's his problem not to let him make it hers.

Even when those men get their "trophy" wife, its not enough.

Those men will never be happy.

Men think they want trophy wives, but in most cases they'd probably be unhappy with one.

In "A Perfect Stranger" there is a quote that I love "Show me a beauitful woman, and I'll show you a man who's tired of f***ing her"

It's so true. Ya, she may be hot but is she fun to be around? talk to? good in bed? a good cook? willing to straighten up the house?

Most men would be much happier with a pretty girl who has better inner qualities. And no, I don't say this because I'm ugly. I'm a very pretty girl whose boyfriend is very happy with her. Am I drop dead gorgeous? Probably not. But I'm hot enough for all of his friends to talk about me. And he gets the pleasure of having a girlfriend who loves sports, went on a hunt for Madden 2009, isn't too shabby in the kitchen, and takes pride in keeping our home looking good.

Beauty on the inside is much more important then men seem to think. And a lot of men with trophy wives live in loveless marriages with cheating and get stuck with the bill for those highlights, fake nails, fake b***s, etc... have fun with that.

Yes it bothers me. I love my husband. I'm drop dead gorgeous and smart as a whip. Imagine having goals and credentials as well as shortcomings...and all that is acknowledged is is your physical flaws. You graduated from Julliard at 19 and are the youngest/highest paid choreographer in all of Florida and all *some*  men see in you are the DD's you haul around or a few pounds that can spared. Sh** hurts. I work too damned hard to be someones trophy. I'm a f***ing hero. (and I say all of this with utmost modesty and respect for all who don't feel so pretty and are still chasing destiny)

No it does not bother me. I would not want to be with an idiot with that kind of a fantasy.

I think its because they dont really know what they want so they try to get a a reaction out of their peers by saying shes 'this, that the other'

However it also could be an ego thing, they think those women are not good enough for them, im sorry to say that they probably wont ever find a woman "good enough" for them if they keep it up.

Its also something to do with age, as men get slightly older they realise the harsh reality of life, or they may even fall in love with a girl who is completely the opposite of what they thought they wanted.

Lastly it could just be a post-breakup phase, he may have just broken up with a girlfriend and now [temporarily] hate the female species.

I think wanting a trophy wife is something that the media makes men think they want, and no matter how hard they look for that trophy wife, they're never gonna get EVERYTHING, no woman is perfect.

Sometimes it can bother me but for 99% of the time it doesnt, everyone has thier own idea of the the perfect partner so i dont have any right to crush that. But i like to think men will just grow out of it. To each their own i suppose.
