Question:

Why do some men feel so threatened by feminism?

There seems to be some guys here that feel so threatened by feminism that they spend their time slagging women off and attempting to 'break' women down. They obviously don't understand what feminism is..... They think it's 'man-hating'!

Just because men no longer control women and their access to education, career and their right for choice, doesn't mean women hate men!

What's wrong with these guys that they feel so threatened by women?

Is it just lack of education or did they have a poor male role model when growing up? Or are they just unintelligent?

  1. Ask them!

  2. Why are you not asking why women are threatened by it? Why not just rephrase the q as this.. "why are some people threatened by feminism?"

    And the answer is simple.

Noone is threatened by it. But most people see the hypocrosies in it seemly except for the feminist themselves.

Feminism is a special interest group looking out for themselves and anyone else who has breast. And excludes the other gender. That is what most peoples problem with it is.

*anatol* noone should have power over another.

I've met some people who tried to control me. Ask them how sucessfull they were. It wasn't very pretty and they left knowing i just kicked there @ss.

I control noone and noone controls me.

  3. They are ignorant, insecure, lack education, are unintelligent...and the worst are the ones who think men have a natural right to control women. Makes you wonder where the h**l these people were raised. They seem to be stuck in the 19th century.

To Anatol: No, there's nothing wrong with parents wanting control over their kids, but there's A LOT wrong with a husband wanting control over his wife. Parents are the leaders as a team. Marriage does not give you property rights over the other person. If that is really how you think then good luck finding a wife/partner...

"women are inferior in some ways" wow that's a very ignorant statement. Tell me exactly how I am inferior to you.

  4. Anatol said "  I definitely would be afraid if I lost control of my future wife and daughter. So should every husband and father. There is NOTHING wrong with a man wanting some control over both his wife or kids. A mother would want the same with her child.".

    Not husband Anatol?

It seems to me that in ever ism ( sexism, raseism, ect. ) fear is inolved . The want to be at the top, to feel superior.

It seems that some men think of their wives more of something to be taken care of then wives do towards their husbands. Sometiems, it seems to me , husband think of their wives almost with the need to control. Not in the mean sense most of the time but how a mother feels toward their child ; a want to steer them in a good direction.

Maybe guys just need to learn how to let go but  I think alot of wives and girlfriends like it to some extent.

  5. Feminism stifles the freedom of speech. There is plenty more reasons but that should be enough. That is intolerable.

  6. I will answer.

You said 'Just because men no longer control women and their access to education, career and their right for choice, doesn't mean women hate men!'

I definitely would be afraid if I lost control of my future wife and daughter.  So should every husband and father.  There is NOTHING wrong with a man wanting some control over both his wife or kids.  A mother would want the same with her child.

There is NOTHING wrong with a man having power over women in certain settings.  However, women are inferior in some ways and so should not be granted equal status in everything.

If you hate being a woman so much, go get a s*x change is my advice LOL!!   :-)

  7. Because it's not about them, and the maladjusted ones can't stand that.

  8. Yes, unintelligence and lack of education.  They are the yokels of the world who feel that if women are more powerful than their mullets then feminism must be to blame.

  9. I was thinking about something similiar today. I think more and more society is seeing that man really place a lesser role than we thought he did. Men don't do it all, women do... for the MOST part. I think man feels threatend by our "power", drive, success, and our being. His purpose is almost unclear today. But men should know that they are neeed and do serve a purpose, but it's up to them to find it, but not DEFINE it. Cuz for women AND men, that's were the trouble began when roles were defined. But as we see today, there is no definition, nor role as to what it means and is to be a woman. To define it would be endless.

  10. they realise women have rights and privlege and double standards that men dont have.

  11. thats a great question! it has to do with the fact that men are used to being in the position of power and being at the "top" and getting the best of everything and fully befitting from society. now that women are gaining more power, they are afraid that they will loose this "top" position and that women will have the power! or even if they aren't afraid of loosing their status and power, they don't want to share it because obviously if you have to share something, you will have less of it for yourself. also many men just believe a womens "place" is below that of a man's, period. this attitude is caused by a lot of factors including what you mentioned like lack of education, having a poor male role model, also the media, and the way they were brought up and also their own self-esteem and self-image!

  12. I agree that women should be treated equally as men.

But people who go round "being a feminist" annoy me. Surely anyone who isn't sexist counts as a feminist?

Men and women are mostly treated equal these days, so I don't see what the problem is.

  13. for as long as i can remember women have worked and had positions of power, our last two presidents have been women, it is normal and a given for me that women are equal and have education and careers. none of the guys here are old enough to remember it been any different so how can they possibly be threatened by women having an education or a career?

i do take issue with feminism, for many reasons i think modern feminism is full of bigotry, dishonesty, hypocrisy, narcissism, double standards and so on.

i don't like racism, homophobia or modern feminism, these are my pet hates.

all your weak minded theories about why people don't like feminism are just that, there are genuine reasons to oppose modern feminism, the feminist writers who have been labeled anti-feminists are intelligent enough to think outside of the ideological box and you would do well to take them on board.

  14. Not all men are so weak and fearful, only those who doubt that they can rise within themselves without unfair advantages and "entitlements".  I think the more fearful men are of the bogeyman feminist, the less he thinks of himself and his own abilities.  Many fearful emotionally / cognitively feeble people desperately attempt to reduce others in order to feel a false sense of rising for themselves in lieu of actually rising within themselves.  That is bigotry.  Bigots are a failure of the human spirit.

  15. Are you joking here?

I hope so.  I hope that a person in 2008 cannot be ignorant about the anti-male nature of feminism.

When we see radicals that have spread hatred for men for decades:

    http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/LGB.a...

And mainstream feminists still support these women and consider some of them to be "important" and "inspiring" ...you know exactly where they stand with regards to men.

Men see that and don't like it.

When you see feminists lobbying for legislation that gives women special advantages (women already have equal rights) then again....

Men see that and don't like it.

And when we see feminists lying about DV/sape stats:

    http://www.leaderu.com/real/ri9502/somme...

    ...again we don't like it.

    ...And there is your answer.
