Why do some mirrors make you look good and others don't?

Does it depend on the lighting? But what about when your in a mirror shop and you like what you see in some mirrors but not in others? Is it mirror quality?

I think it mainly comes down to mirror quality. The degree of flatness of the glass will have an effect on distortion which may be too small to be obvious but will affect the image. Also, the matierials used to silver the back of the mirror will have an affect on colour renditioning.
