I was taught to enjoy your youth while you can and I follow that philosophy.I have seen how some of these little girls under the age of 18 are dressed and its just horrible. Its like some of these mothers are trying to make their children grow up fast so that they can get a break. There are too many crazy men out here to be dressing girls up like they're prostitutes in training. Then some of these mothers wonder why pedophiles be chasing their daughters.I even witnessed a mother on the Metra train who had the nerve to get angry because a young man was staring at her daughter. She then said you can stop looking at my daughter with goo goo eyes. She is only 15 and then she pushed him.Her daughter was dressed in a mini tube dress. Why would you let your 15 year old girl walk out the house dressed like a music video vixen? Why do these mothers let their girls go out the house looking like that? Pedophiles run with things like this.Have these mothers ever heard of class?

  1. I have a son (10), daughter (age 9), another daughter (16 months), and our last child is another girl; due this Fall... Finding clothes to properly fit my 9-year-old girl, without her looking like a hoochie, is extremely difficult... I sometimes buy her boy shorts, and no one knows the difference, except for me, when I can breathe a sigh of relief that she isn't about to flash her rear... Thankfully, I have found---and purchased---a few pairs of girl shorts, that are only a couple of inches above the knee, or even all the way to her knees, and they are so much better... Capris work well, too.

Boy clothes almost all look the same; hard to find different styles, and girl clothes have too many different ways to dress a young girl like a future Ms. Look-at-me... I need to learn to sew. :)

  2. I would guess that sometimes the mother is trying to re-live their youth through their daughters. But, honestly- I don't know if you have daughters; I do and it's frustrating going shopping. I have a 3 year old and have seen bikini underwear for her. What does a 3 year old need with bikini underwear?!? So many of the clothes are too revealing/ too old for little girls. So, I also think part of the problem lies with the clothing manufacturers, too.

Ultimately, it's up to us as parents to dress our children appropriately. If a shirt's too low-cut/revealing, put a tank-top/camisole under it. If a dress is too short, don't buy it.

I agree with you- children should enjoy their youth.

  3. My daughter is six and the clothes they make for her size are even ridiculous!! They make everything to fit so tight, even if i buy a size or two bigger, it fits her tight.  It's so ridiculous!

  4. Because the parents are stupid. I worked at a retail store and I HATE it when little girls look like s***s; those girls need some class along with their parents.

  5. I don't know why parents allow it, but it probably has something to do with how difficult it is to find reasonable clothes for preteens and teens.  Have you walked through the 8-12 girls section of a clothing store lately? Good luck finding stuff that isn't either a walking advertisement for something or totally inappropriate for a pre-teen.

I think there are a lot of parents (myself included) who would swarm all over a clothes retailer for kids that sold age-appropriate clothes with appropriate hemlines, no advertisements or slogans, etc.  I can't imagine why there aren't more of them.
