Question:

Why do some old injuries still hurt years later...even after surgery...

I nicked the tendon on my index finger on a sharp metal edge over 7 years ago and had surgery to repair. It was a small injury but sometimes the finger/joint still hurts.

There was a time however that the finger had a lot of exercise and during that time there was no pain. Now - without exercise or as much use it has begun to hurt.

  1. you may have a damaged nerve or some arthritis in it due to the injury if it still hurts seven years after you injury it will probably always give you problems but you could ask a doctor about it maybe they can give you something to keep the pain or irratation to a minumum, good luck
