Why are people naming their children such cruel names? I saw a question yesterday asking everyone what they thought of "Lancelot". I understand when a question is asking about poopoohead, theyre joking. But some of these questions are real! Why would you name your child "rayne"? Or, if you choose a real name, you HAVE to spell it "Dayveed"? "Aymee"?

  1. My daughters name is Brooklyn everything thinks of newyork but not me when i chose her name newyork was not in mind at all....its simply 2 very common classic names put together Brooke and Lyn. My son his name is Owen i chose it becouse the meaning. But if Owen were a girl we had the name Madalyn picked out.

  2. So you only consider REAL names ones that everyone else on the planet has?

I would SOOOO much rather be named Rayne than Amy

  3. I have to agree about the misspelled names (or parental dyslexia, as I like to call it, haha). Lancelot might be very unusual and based on mythology, but Dayveed is just plain retarded.

Some people seem to forget about the fact that children will grow into adults and pick the ~*CUTEST*~ names ~*EVAR*~.

I can just see how in 70 years, nursing homes will be filled with Haydens, Jaydens, Aiydens, Madalynns, Madilins, Jaelyns, Cayleighs and many more.

Weirdly spelling a common name does NOT make it unique. Your child will be unique because of their personality, and not because you named her Rubeigh (no joke, I saw this in a birth announcement).

  4. because people are stupid.

  5. haaaaaaaaahahahah i COMPLETELY AGREE. my sister in law has a day care kid named "cayleeigh" UGH! i want to slap a mom!

  6. have you ever thought that the names may mean something special to the parents?

  7. just because someone is trying to give their child a unique name doesnt mean they hate them! good grief, some people need to be more open minded.

  8. I asked for LANCELOT and h**l yes its a better name from Navaeh or Madelyn if you cant understant that someone prefer to be a little more original you are the close minded

lancelot is a clasic name when Madelyn is mispelled

edit Maybe in the community you live i i our community original unique royal sophisticated names are something very very common

  9. Some people just love "creatively spelled" names. I don't know why. I guess they think it's clever.

Lancelot is pretty classic though. It's not misspelled or bad.

  10. I agree with you my friend named her son payden cash ( paid-in-cash)

  11. Yeah, they could mean something.

And I agree, I do NOT like the name 'Lancelot', but I do like Aymee spelt like that.  Amy looks so much more plain.  Just as Anne looks soooo much better than Ann and Lynne looks much better than Lynn.

And I like the way Rayne looks, but not the way it sounds.  I mean, why would you name your kid rain??  Some people just have different (strange) tastes.

  12. some people just want to be different so they name their children after celebrity nicknames or something

  13. I KNOW!!! Those people are so annoying, I mean who would want to be called Nevaeh Rayna ??? And what is up with the names that don't flow or go together, I mean I Know a Ariella Lauren, and i hate that, when some people can't decide they call the kid two, totally, Random Names like Jameson Alexander-Daimen or Mia-Sara Rayna-Joy

  14. names are a private decision made by the parents.  If you don't like a name, that is your right..

however the above post is just rude and childish.

  15. My mother deliberately chose less-common names for her children- their last name was Miller, and my father had a very common first name. People would always be getting him confused with someone else. We would always get messages on our machine for a Mr. Miller "the professor" or "the violinist" (my dad being an engineer.) When they gave us uncommon first names (nothing cruel IMO) it was because they didn't want us to have the same problem.
