Question:

Why do some people argue that pro-lifers should be out there adopting babies?

There are PLENTY of Americans out there who would love to adopt a newborn baby. Next time you try and use this futile argument, I challenge you to please ask this question of a childless couple who has been trying to adopt for years only to have their hearts broken and wallets exhausted time after time. There are more potential adoptive parents out there than there are babies to go around. Please show some class, people.

  1. I do not recollect anybody asserting that prolifers need to adopt babies.  Stop making things up to discredit people with opposing viewpoints from your own

  2. Amen, I know of 2 couples, combined have 6 adopted babies (ages 2-10), and one of them just had their first adopted boy graduate from college.

God Bless the people that can reach out to these children.

  3. According to them, anyone who is law abiding and wants other people to follow the law should also be a police officer.

  4. There's no way to show class when you're fighting for the right to kill innocent children.

  5. It's because too many people think they are right and the other guy is wrong.

Maybe everyone should mind his own business on the abortion issue.

  6. And perhaps our grandparents should have minded their own business on the concentration camp issue, eh, GREEN GIANT?

Sorry, not to be mean, but you can't dodge this issue that way. It's a cop out.

As for the original question, I usually answer that tired argument with, "why aren't the pro-abortion folks out there providing counseling to women who've undergone the trauma of abortion?."

Sure, it's a weak argument. But not as weak as the adoption ruse.

  7. Actually they should adopt babies. If you feel so strongly about bringing each and every unborn fetus into the world, you can raise them all AND pay for it. Outlaw abortion and the United States would become the ultimate welfare state!

"You should put that child up for adoption once its born instead of aborting the fetus. But I'm not going to adopt your child and I especially don't want my tax dollars to pay for it." Sorry conservatives, can't have it both ways.

  8. Because pro-lifers are the ones most likely to push adoption on people--claiming abortion isn't an option.

George W. Bush was about to adopt kids, but then his wife got pregnant, and they could only afford two, apparently.

  9. I would remind the "childless couple" that there are approx 500,000 children languishing in the US foster system waiting to be adopted.

  10. I don't know, but it's one of their many senseless justifications for continuing the slaughter, i.e "it's just a clump of cells", it's not human, a woman has a right (to commit murder), those babies will grow up in poverty, women will resort to coat-hanger abortions, etc,,"  It's all double-talk to skirt the actual issue.

First of all, if women would use birth control in the first place, this debate would not be relevant.  There's nothing preventing women from taking precautions.  If you have to put your teenage daughter on birth control from the moment she reaches puberty, then do it.  Secondly, 'coat-hanger, back alley abortions' were done at a time before the 'pill' and the other advanced means of birth control.  Thirdly, as you say, there are plenty of couples who want to adopt, but the women who get abortions don't want to go through the process of giving birth because it is inconvenient.  Killing the baby is more convenient.  And finally, if there's nothing wrong with abortion, why do so many women who have them suffer great trauma and stress as a result of it.  They just can't accept the truth...no matter how many excuses including  "pro-life people won't adopt " to it's not human, abortion = murder.
