  1. never heard that my family does it all the time

  2. What I've found that is usually acceptable is when placing the order is to ask the waiter for an extra plate for each dish. This way you can share out a portion on a clean plate.

  3. Because you're ordering for two, but only paying half price.

  4. because probably they think its dirty to share=/

  5. everybody has an opinion..just be it and do what pleases you but make sure its not annoying to others.

  6. i don't know... I do it all the time when I go out with friends... sometimes I'm not hungry enough, or don't have enough money to get something just for me, so a friend and I pair up and share something and split the cost... I don't think it's rude at all.... I think it's economical, and makes for some funny convorsation sometimes.

  7. Not hygienic and it looks cheap.

  8. I've never heard of anyone considering sharing rude.  What is rude is to sample someone else's food without asking permission.

  9. Mostly, it's people in the restuarant business that consider it rude to share food at a restaurant since it cuts into their profit margin.  I have a family 2 small toddlers under the age of 5 and I find it more rude to have to pay full-price for each of them to eat at some restaurants...

*For example for our family of four- two adults, two small children we ordered 2 reg. entrees at lunch with the salad bar.. They charged us FULL price for the children.  So, our bill for LUNCH was $50!  That's pretty excessive for a lunch menu.  It wasn't like we even had steak or ordered alcohol.  So, we don't eat at that restaurant anymore.. We also get an ENTERTAINMENT BOOK every yr. and use BOGO FREE coupons to save money!

*Some restaurants offer KIDS EAT FREE days or reduced prices for childrens menu's.

I don't think it's RUDE some restaurants have HUGE portions.  It's better to share than to throw away..

  10. Some people might think your cheating the restaurant or something.

  11. because of spreading germs?

  12. I believe that some restaurants may have a policy discouraging it but if they don't, then I don't think it's rude.  I don't eat alot and I would rather go in on the bill with someone else and not spend my money knowing that I'm just going to waste the food.

  13. I have no idea... I don't see the rudeness... I see the hygiene-worrisome part, but not rude...

  14. cos you share your saliva and germs
