  1. God loves you so much, that he will send you to h**l and burn for all eternity if your not magically taught by a preacher to know of him, the creator of all.

  2. Because... well, He did kill all the innocent babies and unborn fetuses in the Flood.

Doesn't seem too merciful to me.

    Peace.

  3. Because he was a wrathful God in the Old Testament and a merciful God in the New Testament. That may explain why Jews are such an angry people.

I think it's a safe bet not to get on God's bad side.

  4. 50% of the world's species are parasites! - Where's the mercy?

Hagfish enter another fish's orifices, and eat the other fish out alive. Where's the mercy?

The ebola virus enters your tissues, and liquifies your insides while you live - feeling every bursting blood vessel - where's the mercy?

When you sit down at the table, the food there came from a once living thing - which had to be killed so you could eat - where's the mercy?

God supposedly made these rules - all of them. He supposedly also made Carbon Dioxide a greenhouse gas that causes global warming - He could have just made it a benign gas that did nothing. He could have put nuclear fusion reactors in our bellies so that we didn't have to kill other creatures to live ourselves.

But He didn't if He exists.

    So - where's the mercy?

  5. I look at God's mercy on a more individual and personal level.  God's mercy allows me to forgive myself on a very deep level.  I believe that it is difficult for some people to love and forgive themselves in this deep way because this would mean to confront very deep hurts, wounds and realizations.  Because of these pains, they may feel in their heart that they are  not worthy of His mercy so therefore deny it.

  6. Anyone who denies God's mercy is simply projecting their own lack of mercy, in my opinion.

God says He desires mercy not sacrifice. He provided the sacrifice and will provide mercy on all who accept His sacrifice.  To deny the 100% act of God's grace, through faith in Christ to others is to deny it to yourself (this is my opinion).

Added:  When unbelievers deny God's mercy, it is because they are falsely attributing evil to God.

  7. cuz he's killed countless people.

Gott , your biblical one, is everything, but ´´merciful´´

  9. God has many attributes mercy is one of them. Justice is another. Too often people ignore the mercy because the punishments are easier to complain about.

  10. Because there are people who don't believe in god.

  11. Some, for the same reason Aldus Huxley said there was no God and no meaning to life,  "I want this world not to have meaning because a meaningless world frees me to my own erotic and political pursuits." .  They choose to believe there is no God and want to mock or deny his existence.

There is always hope for them though and many atheists become Christianities greatest speakers.  Men like C.S. Lewis, Alister McGrath, and Lee Stroebel were all atheist and became Christians!

However, "God exist whether or not men may choose to believe in Him. The reason why many people do not believe in God is not so much that it is intellectually impossible to believe in God, but because belief in God forces that thoughtful person to face the fact that he is accountable to such a God." - Robert A. Laidlaw

There is also the option that it is unintentional or intentional ignorance of God and Jesus.  I agree with Daniel Wallace (expert in ancient texts and early Biblical manuscripts) who said, in an interview in the book "The Case for the Real Jesus",   "It's disturbing that when it comes to the Christian faith, people don't really want, or know how, to investigate the evidence".  So many today will not read the Bible to day to see what it says but will read a book telling them what to think it says, and many of those books have no relevance to the Bible.

There is hope for them too..

    James 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

FINALLY... there are those that want to blame God rather than take any action or responsibility for their lack of effort to make the world better.  We see the opposite in organizations like Compassion and World Vision and Samaritans Purse and the supporters of those organizations.

"In the struggle against evil, there is no shame in defeat -- only in not fighting." - Steven Hart

"God doesn't require us to succeed; he only requires that you try" Mother Teresa of Calcutta

  12. You obviously havn't read the old testament or you'd know the answer instantly. god was invented by man probably to control the masses. Nothing about god is real.

  13. Humans are arrogant.

  14. Because thousands in the bible he killed: men, women and younglings for not believing in him.

If hide himself from the world, how then can he punish those who can not see him?

  15. They read of the acts of God, seeing how He punished for sin, but they do not realize it was for sin they were being punished, even eliminated.

They do not believe sin exists, let alone God.

So, they can pick on a God they think does not exist, saying that He cannot possibly be merciful, not if He doesn't allow people to do what they want.

Mercy is just ONE of the attributes of God. And it is mercy which separates people. Those that would have mercy from God are themselves merciful. Those that are not of God are not merciful.

That's just the way it is.

  16. I would deny that the God has any qualities at all.

  17. Love is God

  18. Something about that eternal, torturing, h**l fire seems a little unmerciful.

Edit:  Ruth, just so you know, your god said he created eveil.

  19. Because more often than not, God does not show mercy.

  20. Mercy is one of God's qualities. People try to deny it because most people lack this qualiy to have mercy on others and forgive them foe wrongdoing. Instead they want to take revenge out out people who do wrong against them.

  21. Because if He was merciful, would small innocent children in other countries be dying of starvation? Would he send his 'children' to eternal damnation?

    Think about that.

  22. If god was real, I seriously question him as being merciful. It is mercy to let children die of starvation, or killed, enslaved etc. because they can. Is it merciful to allow mankind to burn down the rain forest, pollute the air and water, and drive species to extinction. god had better hope that he doesn't exist. I relish the thought of spending an afterlife planting my boot up his ***.(Too bad he isn't real)

  23. why do some people deny that being drunk is one of god's qualities?  If god created everything, then, he also created alcohol and the desire to drink and, consequently, drunks, right?  But, why?

  24. A merciful "god"? What a wonderful concept! So its merciful to starve children and plague the world that he created with misery and disease and death. Merciful god you say, wait till your time ends on this earth and you will find there is no mercy from the worms crawling through your corpse or the burning fire that returns your form to ashes. Merciful god, thats an oximoron. Is it merciful when a woman is raped, is it merciful for a child to be molested, murdered, sold into sexual slavery or beaten because they spilled milk on the floor or to have ones life cut short for the ignorance of others. Merciful god you say, I SAY VERY CRUEL DEITY THAT REALLY DOESNT EXIST!!!

  25. God is flippant.  For every time he is merciful he is malevolently unfair another time.  People who think God is anything but a tyranical spiteful murdering jerk are just afraid of him.  Maybe I'd be afraid if I didn't think he's imaginary, but hey, that's the greatest thing about being an atheist; I have the freedom to be moral even when religion doesn't want me to be.

  26. How do you come to this conclusion?
