Why do some people end up homeless ?

Why is that ? Don't they have families or friends to go to ?

Since talking to a lot of people I have known for years they admit to making bad choices.

The reasons are as varied as the individual.  Generally speaking though some of the major reasons can be due to loss of job, loss of spouse or major illness.  There are those that are homeless due to poor choices, addictions and mental illness.

Unemployment.  Drugs, addictions.

My bil ran across a family acquaintance of long gone by.  She has a Ph.D. in Geology.  She was panhandling by the side of the road.

I don't know about you, but if there's a hint of long-term thinking, or addictions of any sort, I could not bring that anywhere near my family.

Maybe they don't know who or where their families are or maybe their family doesn't want anything to do with them.

maybe they left their family and friends and thats how they became homeless and they cant go back anymore.
