  1. It's because you cannot see the way the track is bending. If you face forward you can see where you are going

  2. its the force of the train goin the opposite way.. happens my cousin too x x x

  3. Hi there. I suffer from that....Its caused by the same thing as travel sickness (which i used to suffer from when I was a child) and is cause (in simple terms) by the signal being broken down between the eye & the brain....In other word the eye is takining in to much information and the brain cannot cope which then caused you to feel sick.

The best way to cope with it is to look at the distance, which you cannot realy do when going backwards.

Mind I have discovered that travelling on the pendelino trains that I do not feel as good, because now I cannot look at things in the distance as the train tilts & I do not like them one bit....So its back to driving if I need to go to Manchester!

  4. Its like that X - no way out thing at thorpe park... Some people hate it, cos its intense, but some are fine with it.  Its to do with the direction of travel, same with being dizzy after spinning round and round and round and round...

  5. It's a form of travel sickness.  The brain is saying that your body isn't moving but the eyes are sending messages that you are moving.  I don't know why it's worse when travelling backwards.  The person needs to look at something that's not moving to re-train the brain to know that you are not moving.

  6. I get that feeling and try to avoid riding backwards whenever I can.  If I focus on reading or engage in a conversation I don't notice it though.

  7. could be because it's not normal motion to be going backwards and you cant see where you are going. My friend is travel sick when in the back of a car but is fine in the front

  8. Im not sure, but it makes me feel really sick

  9. I feel the same way if I sit facing forwards on a train.  The scenery rushes towards me so fast that I can't take it all in whereas if I sit backwards, the scenery is in my view for so much longer for my eyes to rest upon.

  10. Motion sickness is triggered by your brain not being able to process the images that your eyes are sending it, so it triggers a survival mode or 'mini-shock'.  Your body protects all your major organs, which are situated in your torso, causing dehydration and therefore nausea.  This applies to sea travel as well as travelling backwards or at extreme speed.

  11. State of mind !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
