Question:

Why do some people get into a pool all dressed?

Hello,

My wife and I live in an apartment complex with a pool shared by all residents. The pool rules are clearly visible to everybody, and among them you can see that no one with a t-shirt or similar attire should go inside the pool.

Well everyday we see people (men and women) going into the pool with t-shirts, trunks (not for swimming) and their underwear on! We find it not only quite gross to dive in with your day long sweaty clothes but also keep wondering what's up with these people and what kind of fun can they have in the water with their clinging wet t-shirts and plastered trunks... haven't they ever heard of swimsuits???

And for those wondering, yes we are in the US... downtown San Antonio actually... not Saudi Arabia. ;)

Thanks for any and all comments!

  1. Actually i think like that to why can't they go to Wal-Mart and buy swimming trunks and for the girls why can't they do the same except by swim suits.

  2. Well I think that just alot of people think that they can do what ever and s***w all the rules? But alough it is a free country there is still rules that apply to most everything! =] But I would Have a huge probablem with that too! I would just try to tell the owner of the apartment and maybe they will stop it! =] Good luck! I hope I helped

  3. lol, I can see your point, but how is that "gross"? You realize that sweat comes out of the body, right? There are FAR "grosser" things to worry about floating around in a swimming pool, and yet you don't have to worry about any of them because guess what? The water's sterilized, lol.

I'd say they probably just do it because it's fun. I know when I have friends over sometimes we end up swimming around with our clothes on, it's awesome. You feel like you're in some action movie or something. :D

  4. there are probably several reasons:

    1. they don't feel comfortable with their bodies

    2. they can't afford a bathing suit

    3. they are just too lazy to put a suit on

  5. because they're probbly self confident about their bodies and think that by wearing t-shirts and such will make them feel better.

even though, it really dosnt hide anything because they still cling too their bodies and makes them look worse

and maybe some of them just cant afford a swimsuit(even though u can find really cheap one's everywere)

  6. hahahha... ewww. thats nasty... if i were u i wouldnt swim i nthat pool.  but maybe they cant afford swimsuits or maybe they r self concious of wat their bodies look like and stuff. they might just be embarrassed. but good luck!
