Is it in your DNA that you get old?

  1. you could but then you could get run over or shot when you are 36. Is that in the DNA?

  2. i think alot has to do with enviromental factors too. e.g the air we breath and the food we eat.also how much stress there is in our lives.

medical technology is getting better and better, so people are living longer these days anyway irrespective of their dna.

  3. The greatest factor is how you live your life.

  4. No doubt genetics play a part but other important factors are lifestyle , diet , exercise  ,stress levels  to name a few ...

In this modern world , the external pressures & influence on how we live our lives  are playing an increasing role as are diet & exercise .Diet habits have changed dramatically in a generation & with that have come a surge in health issues.

The incredible increase in fast food has seen an epidemic in deseases like diabetes as well as a huge problem with obesity ...

So , my take on all of this is that if you have good genetics  eat sensibly , exercise regularly & live simply you stand a good chance of living to a ripe old age !

Follow the TV ads & overindulge in fast food , don't  exercise or watch your weight ......lots of luck !

  5. although some of your physical endurance may be DNA formed your longevity has little to do with it. How long you live would mainly depend on how you treated your physical being through your life. The exercise the healthy eating. etc... all play a huge part where you live also plays an important part has differences in the air we breath can carry contaminates that can either prolong life or help deteriorate it

  6. i think the same way you do. you got it from your genes thats why some people get older than others.

  7. Because they are not in cryogenic suspension. no actually it is, in my not so humble opinion, a simple matter of stress management and how much you smile in your life. Smile: live long time. Frown: die young. Simple as that!

  8. I dont really know. I'm just droppin' by...

  9. you mean longevity? (how long you're expected to live..) it's socio-cultural mainly I think, so your family background and living situation has a lot to do with it, so do genetics (as far as health, diseases in the family), but generally humans are getting to live longer and longer...
