Why do some people (girl in this case) put on a baby whiny voice?

I've heard her voice. It's relatively adult. But she always talks in a babyish whiny sounding voice (stretches words, stuff like 'pleeeej'). She doesn't talk like that when shes pissed (prbz cuz she cant concentrate on more than 1 thing).

Anyway, just wondering why.

To those who say ' if you dont like it dont listen'... I dont. But I still wonder.

And if it's for attention, why dioesn't she do it around her real friends. According to her no one elses opinion matters anyway.

I thopught maybe to 'convince' someone. Persuasive. To me it sounds like a frickin reatrd so I kinda turn a deaf ear.

She thinks using a baby voice will get her what she wants without having to learn to fight for it. daddy probably bent to her will every time she did it and she never outgrew it. If you tell her no does she pout instead of try and convince you why you should say yes? If so she has a lot of growing up to do. You can help her, but turning a deaf ear won't help. You need to confront her and tell her what you feel about such idiosyncrasies. And if that don't help, give her the ultimatum of leaving her or stop being her friend if she doesn't stop. then stick to it.

Ah...it's totally for attention. I know this because I used to use that very voice. My guy friends quickly told me that it was annoying and I stopped using it. Now everytime I hear it whether I'm friends with the person or not, I roll my eyes. Honestly, it doesn't persuade anyone, just ticks them off.

Some women think "the Baby voice" is s**y .

   And sometimes being s**y gets you what you want .

I find it totally annoying.
